The Artists category honors solo and ensemble living artists who have achieved lifelong artistic and technical quality or historical significance in the field of world music. (5 annual inductions)
- Industry and Media Excellence
Industry and Media Excellence celebrates influential music industry and media individuals and organizations who have provided increased visibility and recognition to world music and its multiple subgenres (3 annual inductions).
- In Memoriam
In Memoriam includes posthumous inductions that honor historically inventive and influential artists or industry professionals who passed away in previous years or decades. (5 annual inductions)

The 3 TWMC administrators, Juan Antonio Vázquez, Ángel Romero Ruiz, Araceli Tzigane + 4 additional members of the TWMC panel who have voted on a regular basis in the past 12 months.
Industry and Media Excellence Judges

Nomination:
The Nomination period will be open September 15-October 31, 2021. Self-nominations are accepted.
Inductees will be announced November 22, 2021.
