Mijn eerste virtuele Womex
Het leek er op dat de jaarlijkse Womex (World Music Expo) gewoon zou plaatsvinden in Boedapest. Totdat het bericht kwam dat de Hongaarse regering had besloten om per 1 september de grenzen te sluiten voor niet-ingezetenen. Om de jaarlijkse “reünie” toch door te kunnen laten gaan, heeft het Womex-team, samen met lokale partner Hangveto, gewerkt aan een programma waarmee alle Womexicans digitaal kunnen samenkomen. Je kon je registreren voor 79 euro excl. btw. Uiteindelijk telde deze digitale editie 1.130 geregistreerde deelnemers uit 90 landen, 38 jury-selecteerde showcase artists uit 40 landen, 21 docu’s uit 21 landen, 23 conferenties met zeven experts, drie rondetafelgesprekken, vier een-op-een mentorsessies, acht netwerkmeetings [...]
