Eerste reactie Kunsten ’92 op stelseladvies van de Raad voor Cultuur

Zojuist heeft de Raad voor Cultuur zijn advies gepresenteerd over een herziening van het cultuurstelsel 2021 - 2024 met de titel ‘Cultuur dichtbij, dicht bij cultuur’. Dit op verzoek van minister Van Engelshoven van Onderwijs, Cultuur en Wetenschap. De Raad stelt dat het landelijke cultuurstelsel meer rekening moet houden met het veelzijdige culturele leven in Nederland. Een stevige rol voor de regio, uitbreiding van de landelijke culturele infrastructuur en verbetering van de arbeidsmarktpositie van kunstenaars maken onderdeel uit van het advies. World Music Forum NL zal namens de sector binnenkort vanuit de gezamenlijke Jazz World Contemporary coalitie reageren. Mocht je hiervoor input willen leveren dan kan dat via info@worldmusicforum.nl. Thema: ‘Focus Rotterdam- 010 in 2020?’ Een havenstad als muzikale vrijhaven, dat is Rotterdam altijd geweest. Gabber, hiphop, jazz, latin, morna en tango kwamen er tot bloei, in het nachtleven en in de wijken. Dankzij Morabeza Records ontpopte 010 zich zelfs tot ‘het tiende eiland’ van Kaapverdië. On 26 March 2019 Freemuse launched its annual report, The State of Artistic Freedom 2019: Whose Narratives Count?   The report is an in-depth analysis of 673 cases of violations of artistic freedom that occurred in different cultural spheres in 80 countries throughout 2018. It identifies key challenges for artists’ freedom of expression and points out violation patterns and trends. Additionally, State of Artistic Freedom 2019 calls for accountability for these violations. The State of Artistic Freedom 2019 illuminates a troubling and growing method of violating freedom of artistic expression—counter-terrorism legislation.
