ARIN KESHISHI & MARMOUCHA ORCHESTRA
Arin Keshishi, an Iranian bassist, composer, and the new artistic leader of the Marmoucha Orchestra with Armenian heritage roots, is a celebrated musician renowned for blending Western techniques, classical, jazz, and flamenco, thereby crafting a unique musical character and multicultural expression.
The Marmoucha Orchestra consists of young musicians who collectively bridge the gap between Eastern and Western music, focusing on music from North Africa, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean. Their repertoire ranges from Maghreb and Middle Eastern tunes to jazz, pop, contemporary, and electronic music. Each member possesses their own specialization, technique, and repertoire.
“Self-reflection”, Arin Keshishi’s recently released debut album, serves as his guiding compass in his musical journey. It aims to craft a distinct sound that echoes his unique identity, weaving personal experiences into an identity-rich sonic tapestry reflecting his individuality and journey. Since his move to Amsterdam, Marmoucha has played an integral role in his musical venture and has been a constant source of inspiration. Therefore, he envisions this challenge as an opportunity to experiment and expand his music by merging his style with Marmoucha’s orchestral expertise. This collaboration results in a new approach that showcases diverse talents, enriches Arin’s compositions, and adds unique brushstrokes to the evolving canvas.
