Some important news to tell: we are launching a new, yearly festival in September: Játékfesztivál (Let’s Play Festival) is the happy place of adults who want to (re)discover the joy of playing while simultaneously engaging with the younger generations. Come and enjoy the last rays of the summer sunlight!

If you have been wondering what’s going on in Veszprém with our European Capital of Culture 2023-related projects, scroll down: you’ll find a report on workshops organised by the Hangjáték (Soundplay) project. The workshops include playing unorthodox, home-made instruments and discovering that you can play music with basically anything!

Last, but not least: we’ve changed the deadline for the 3rd and last call of MOST Music project: you can submit you application until 28 August (Sunday), midnight. Don’t miss out on the financial, networking and training support that MOST Music can give you!

IMPORTANT NOTICE: EARLIER DEADLINE FOR ALL OPEN CALLS

Please note and pass it on: we have a new, earlier deadline for all 3 open calls in the MOST Music project. The new deadline is 28 August (Sunday), midnight.

Please note that unlike other rounds, there will not be a deadline extension this time. This affects all three open calls: Balkan Music Export (for musicians from 9 South East European countries), Management Training (for beginner/aspiring managers from 9 South East European countries), Festival & Club Exchange (for festivals and cultural venues from any Creative Europe member state).

We apologise for the inconvenience. Please submit your application as soon as possible, and reach out to us (info@mostmusic.eu) if you think that the deadline change hinders your application, and we will take it into consideration.

Why did the deadline change? To make sure that the selected applicants’ music can make it to Songlines magazine in time. The WOMEX edition of Songlines is always a big deal, it is one of the most anticipated publications in world music all year. The WOMEX edition makes in the hands of thousands of industry professionals.

This year again, the WOMEX edition of Songlines will include a selection CD with MOST musicians’ tracks. We don’t want to miss this, so we had to move our deadline up by a few weeks.

MUSIC-SOAKED WEEKENDS

Music makes you happy – that’s the motto of the Hangjáték (Soundplay) project, run by Hangvető in the city of Veszprém, the European Capital of Culture in 2023. To demonstrate this, we’ve organised workshops where attendees can get their hands on unique, home-made instruments made from various materials found around the house and simply just start getting their rhythm on. A NEW FESTIVAL IN TOWN

You cannot be too old to play – this is the core idea of our newest festival. Játékfesztivál (Let’s Play Festival) takes place in the Balaton Uplands region, in the tiny but beautiful villages of Vöröstó and Barnag, with the goal to help adults (re)discover the joys of playing while engaging a younger audience as well. Held between 2–4 September, it’s the perfect way to end the summer: discover the world of board games, try footgolf, race your matchbox or go on an scavenger hunting adventure. After all: play lets your creativity flow, helps you get in touch with that playful inner child and connects generations.
