Matchmaking Sessions

One of the fixed networking moments during the conference are the Matchmaking Sessions. Musicians, managers, label owners, media professionals, journalists and festival organisers meet one another in the private network location. Who’s in? Among many others: Giorgos Koulas (Paradise Jazz Festival), Kim Macari (Jazz Scotland), Patricia Jochheim (Like A Jazz Machine), Sunna Gunnlaugsdóttir (Reykjavik Jazz Festival), Xavier Barceló Pinya (Institut d’Estudis Baleàrics) and Hans Stekelenburg (Buma/Stemra). Timetables online now

Start planning! From today on the timetables for both the conference and the festival programme are online. This year, the festival takes place during the night on Thursday 27 and Friday 28 June at 4 locations (LantarenVenster, Kantine Walhalla, Foodhallen Rotterdam and Room Mate Bruno). The conference will be held on Friday 28 June in the daytime. For the conference you need to register, click here for your ticket and check out the programme. Announcement Buma Boy Edgar Prize 2019 winner

The Buma Boy Edgar Prize is awarded each year to an artist who has long demonstrated her or his outstanding creative contribution to vitalizing the Dutch jazz and improvised scene. The 2019 winner will be announced at the end of the conference day on Friday 28 June. A special announcement you don’t want to miss out on! He or she will win € 12,500 in cash, a bronze sculpture by Jan Wolkers and a self-compiled evening concert in Bimhuis, followed by the winner’s Buma Boy Edgar tour in 2020. Past winners include saxophonist Tineke Postma (2015), double bass player Wilbert de Joode (2016), pianist, composer and arranger Martin Fondse (2017) and pianist, keyboard player and composer Jasper van ’t Hof (photo – 2018).
