Medimex 2022 marks the return of big live concerts with Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds in Taranto (June 19) and The Chemical Brothers in Bari (July 14) and also the return of the entire event to Puglia’s capital town where it was first held in 2011. A long edition of the International Festival & Music Conference promoted by Puglia Sounds, the program of the Puglia Region for the development of the regional music system implemented by Teatro Pubblico Pugliese, will take place from June 16 to 19 in Taranto and from July 13 to 15 in Bari. Medimex is a landmark event for the Italian music market and the general public of music lovers.
From Thursday 16th to Sunday 19th June, Medimex will be back this year in Taranto with a packed program of events at a number of must-see places in town. The climax of the 2022 edition will be the concert by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds on Sunday 19th June, at the round terrace of Taranto’s seafront promenade overlooking the sea, for the first Italian date of his world tour. The programme also includes Meet the Author events with the protagonists of Italian music scene, a special video mapping light show on the Aragonese castle and other side events. Moreover, from June 16 to July 17, the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto, MArTA, will host an exhibition dedicated to Pink Floyd.
After returning to Taranto, Medimex is also back in Bari, from Wednesday, July 13 to Friday, July 15, with a packed schedule of events for both the general public and professionals that include a concert by The Chemical Brothers, Thursday, July 14 (Via Paolo Pinto at round terrace of the seafront promenade overlooking the sea, near the monumental entrance of Fiera del Levante), Meet the author events with names who have made it to the Italian music scene, professional and networking activity addressed to Puglia and national artists and music operators that, as always, will see the participation of representatives of the main Italian and international festivals and cultural institutions, and also music schools for those who want to learn more about music and for music professionals, showcases of Puglia’s artists and many other side events. Bari will also host an important photography exhibition dedicated to Queen, from July 13 to August 28 at Spazio Murat.
