Dutch Performing Arts offers three emerging leaders in the professional Dutch music field the opportunity to join the EMC fellowship programme from June 2020 to June 2021.

This concerns a sponsored fellowship, meaning that Dutch Performing Arts will sponsor three additional Dutch fellows next to the seven fellows that will be selected by EMC via their regular open call.
Dutch Performing Arts will cover the fees for the two conferences, and costs of travel and accomodation concerning the fellowship programme, with a maximum of € 1,500.EMC Fellowship programme
The EMC Fellowship Programme offers young professionals working in the field of music an opportunity to internationalise their careers and stimulates their professional development. For the duration of one year, fellows are invited to take part in the European Forum on Music, get exclusive access to further EMC events and are included in the EMC’s internal (membership) communication. The EMC Fellows are open-minded persons, motivated to engage in cultural policy discussions and committed to the values of musical diversity and the ideals of the five music rights.

The programme consists of events organised by the EMC during the fellowship, e.g.:

European Forum on Music, June 4-7 2020, Bonn

Workshop on gender balance in fall 2020 (tbc)

Network meeting Brussels February 2021 (tbc)

European Forum on Music, June 3-6 2021, Moscow (tbc)

Criteria sponsored fellowship EMC (via Dutch Performing Arts)

The fellow:

is a permanent resident or citizen of the Netherlands;

is currently working in the Dutch professional music field;

is working on behalf of a company or foundation (legal entity);

has a minimum of five years of professional experience in the professional music field;

has not received a EMC Fellowship in the past;

has the ability to attend the European Forum on Music in 2020 and 2021.

Application procedure
You can apply by sending in a motivation letter (in English) of no longer than one A4, a CV and preferably a letter of reference or endorsement from one of the EMC members.
In your motivation letter, please also reflect on how you will share and apply the knowledge gained through the EMC fellowship within your music community.
