WOMEX 20 Digital Showcases and Conferences

A couple of weeks ago we wrapped the first-ever digital edition of WOMEX. This 26th edition proved that it is possible to connect and network globally, amidst lockdowns, from the comfort of our homes and spaces. We streamed 70 hours of online content consisting of 20 hours of conference sessions, 8 hours of network meetings, 4 hours of mentoring, 18 hours of films, 20 hours of virtual showcases including the artist interviews.

Do not miss out – for 79 EUR you can renew or get your annual virtualWOMEX membership! You can re-stream the conference programme and virtual showcases. We have created a special ‘On-demand’ section where you can re-watch, re-learn, re-stream while you connect and network with the global music community. Keep a look-out as we will be updating and uploading new exciting content throughout the year.

At the Opening of WOMEX 20 Digital Edition a few weeks ago, Mr Ernesto Ottone, assistant director-general for culture at UNESCO delivered a very inspiring and encouraging speech that we wish to share with our global music community.

In these challenging times, it is crucial to advocate for fewer inequalities and more cultural diversity. You can (re)watch our Resiliart debate “Play Fair! For a more fair and sustainable digital World for Music” and the presentation of the brand new UNESCO Guide “Culture in Crisis: policy guide for a resilient creative sector” chaired by Mr Toussaint Tiendrebeogo, Secretary of the UNESCO 2005 Convention.
