Sauti za Busara 2019: Call for Artists

The next edition of East Africa’s top music festival is planned to shake the walls of Zanzibar during 7 – 10 February 2019.

Sauti za Busara 2019 will showcase a diverse programme of live performances by original musicians from the African Continent and diaspora. Artists from the Arab World and Indian Ocean are also welcome to apply.

Sauti za Busara 2018: United in Music

During 8 -11 February 2018, in Stone Town Zanzibar people once again joined in celebration, united in music. The audience included 10,000 people of different backgrounds, ages and nationalities. 56% were from Zanzibar and Tanzania, with visitors from across Africa, Europe, the Americas, Asia and Australia.

Sauti za Busara 2018 shone its spotlight on quality, live African music. On three stages over four days, the festival showcased electrifying performances by world-class talents from Zanzibar and Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Senegal, Nigeria, Morocco, Algeria, Egypt and Switzerland.

Outreach events included the Carnival Parade, ‘Movers & Shakers‘ networking meetings for local and visiting arts professionals and a variety of Busara Xtra fringe events as organised by the local community.
